Hunter Douglas Has Acquired 49% of Blaze, Vietnam

Rotterdam, April 13, 2017 – Hunter Douglas, the world market leader in window coverings (Luxaflex®) and a major manufacturer of architectural products, has acquired a 49% stake in Blaze, a Vietnamese developer and fabricator of roman shades, draperies and roller shades, based in Hanoi. Blaze had 2016 sales of USD 15 million, and employs 250 people.

Blaze is a strategic supplier to Blinds2go, the market leading and fast growing internet retailer in the UK, in which Hunter Douglas acquired a 60% stake in 2016. Hunter Douglas intends to use this new resource to expand its soft window coverings position in the UK via its internet, direct sales and dealer channels, as well as in other selected countries.

Hunter Douglas has its Head Office in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Management Office in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Hunter Douglas Group is comprised of 130 companies with 50 manufacturing and 80 assembly operations in more than 100 countries. Hunter Douglas employs about 21,000 people and had sales in 2016 of USD 2.821 billion.

The common shares of Hunter Douglas N.V. are traded on Amsterdam’s Euronext and the Deutsche Börse.
