Stuttgart/Affalterbach, Sep 06, 2013 – The Board of Management of Daimler AG has appointed Tobias Moers (47) as the new Chief Executive of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. In this position, he will be the successor as of October 1, 2013 to Ola Källenius, who will become the new Head of Sales & Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars as of the same date.

With his technical expertise and enthusiasm for high-performance automobiles, he has made an important contribution to the success of our high-performance brand in recent years. He is an out-and-out AMG man who has helped shaping the brand for nearly 20 years now.”
Moers was born in Freiburg in 1966 and has been active for Mercedes-AMG since 1994, where he first worked in various development positions. In 1999, he assumed overall responsibility for the main AMG model series. Tobias Moers has been in charge of complete automobile development since 2002 and has been a member of the executive board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH since 2011.
Moers will succeed to Ola Källenius, who will become Head of Sales & Marketing of Mercedes-Benz Cars as of the same date. Källenius takes over that position from Dr. Joachim Schmidt, who will retire at the end of this year.
